Observatory on Digital technologies in Career guidance for Youth (ODiCY)

ODiCY, the OECD Observatory on Digital Technologies in Career Guidance for Youth, is an initiative by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It is as an open-access repository focused on the use of digital technologies in career education and guidance, primarily targeting children and young people in primary and secondary schools. The main objective of ODiCY is to support the career development of young individuals by providing a platform for policymakers, schools, and guidance practitioners globally to access up-to-date practice examples, and insights on effective commissioning, development and use of digital technologies in career guidance.

ODiCY aims to help schools and the guidance community to enhance the traditional methods of career guidance by making it easier to consider and incorporate new technologies. Digital technologies have the potential to make guidance more effective, efficient, and equitable. This repository is informed by the OECD’s identification of Career Readiness Indicators, which are linked through longitudinal data to how young people explore, experience, and think about their future careers. The Observatory provides a dynamic and collaborative environment where innovation in the field of career guidance, driven by various global actors, can be shared.
