The Ministry of Education and Research, in partnership with national universities and high schools, launched on February 27, 2025, the National Campaign "Study in Moldova"—a large-scale initiative aimed at promoting the country's higher education institutions and encouraging young people to pursue university studies locally. This campaign addresses the issue of academic migration, which affects funding, diversity, and educational resources within Moldova’s university system.

The campaign’s objectives align with the Republic of Moldova’s "Education 2030" Development Strategy and focus on the following key goals:

  • Informing high school students and graduates about higher education opportunities in Moldova;
  • Increasing student enrollment in Moldovan universities;
  • Enhancing the reputation of the country’s higher education institutions;
  • Promoting the teaching profession and addressing the shortage of qualified educators.

Key Activities

To achieve its objectives, the campaign will include:

  • Regional Educational Fairs in 10 district centers, providing direct information to students, parents, and teachers;
  • University Open Days in Chișinău, Bălți, and Cahul, offering students the opportunity to explore campuses and participate in interactive activities;
  • High school and college visits by university representatives to present study programs and the admission process;
  • Career guidance sessions and psychopedagogical assessments organized by the Republican Center for Psychopedagogical Assistance;
  • Social media campaigns and influencer collaborations to maximize outreach and engagement.

This campaign is the first of its kind in the Republic of Moldova and will run from March to May 2025.
