Since 2022, the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth has organised the YEP!-Schoulfoire, an event with a mission to provide complete educational and vocational opportunities for students, parents, and national education professionals. Involved in this large-scale event are respresentatives of the Ministry itself, the House of Guidance, the Service de Coordination de la Recherche et de l'Innovation pédagogiques et technologiques (SCRIPT) and the Service de la Formation Professionnelle.

What can you expect?

The YEP!-Schoulfoire provides a complete overview of the educational and vocational landscape and opportunities in Luxembourg. The fair spans over three halls covering 17,000 square meters and features a variety of interactive and informative elements, including:

  • Exhibitions of secondary schools in Luxembourg: Over 40 secondary schools, including public, private, European, and international institutions, present their unique educational offerings. Visitors can explore the various programmes and specialisations available to students.
  • Interactive discovery workshops: A wide range of workshops cover themes such as creativity, communication, science, coding, robotics, well-being, and craftsmanship. These engage attendees in hands-on learning experiences aimed at uncovering hidden talents and sparking interest in various professional fields.
  • Government and public services: Representatives from the Ministry of Education, Children, and Youth provide information on diverse educational services, schools and initiatives. Visitors can learn about innovative educational projects and get answers to their questions regarding the luxembourgish school, guidance and support system.
  • Léierplazendag (apprenticeship day): The fair also hosts an ad-hoc event, where apprenticeship seekers can connect with companies offering apprenticeship positions. This day offers an excellent opportunity for young individuals to secure vocational training contracts and receive guidance from employment advisors.
  • LuxSkills national championships: Every two years, the fair features the finals of the LuxSkills competition, where over 200 young professionals compete in various trades. This event showcases the high level of skill within Luxembourg’s vocational training programs.

Who can benefit from it?

The main target audience is students and their teachers, with structured visits planned for more than 10,000 students. To make the event accessible to a broad audience, the YEP!-Schoulfoire encourages families to explore the fair together on dedicated days.

In addition to teachers, students and their parents or legal guardians, the YEP!-Schoulfoire is also particularly relevant for professionals in the field of education and career guidance.

It provides a unique platform to:

  • Guide students effectively: Gain insights into the wide array of educational paths and career opportunities available to students, ensuring better-informed guidance and support.
  • Discover innovative practices: Learn about the latest developments in educational methodologies and vocational training.
  • Networking: Engage with stakeholders from different educational departments, chambers, and professional federations.
