Career Guidance Day in Bitola, North Macedonia
The Euroguidance Ambassador from North Macedonia, Goce Markoski Ph.D. organized a career guidance day in Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia.
The German association World University Service (WUS), in cooperation with the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany, supports student internships in various countries worldwide through the "Career Transition Program" project. This year, North Macedonia is also a part of the program.
Through the Center for Alumni Career and Lifelong Learning, such a program was implemented at the University "St. Kliment Ohridski"-Bitola, where WUS Germany, encourages students from the first and second cycle of studies to improve their career through paid internships.
For students and young people to acquire qualifications that will enable them to develop their careers and get their first job, the Center for Career, Alumni and Lifelong Learning of the University "St. Kliment Ohridski"- Bitola, in cooperation with WUS Germany, organized a Career Guidance Day, where students and young people learned the bases for building their career.
In the first module of the event, the students had the opportunity to learn How to prepare a CV within the required standards. The Europass platform was presented by Europass Ambassador Kristijan Salamovski.
In the second module, the students learned how to prepare a cover letter, and what should be kept in mind to emphasize personal skills.
In the third module, students learned about the ways to find an internship and how to make the internship process successful.
In the last module, the students were divided into workgroups and had an interactive session about preparing for an interview.
Therefore, at the training, the importance of possessing soft skills was highlighted, which represent a complement to the professional skills acquired through formal education.
